My Grandparents wedding photo in cross stitch
Ok, I know it's not crochet but I wanted to post this here anyway. I made this for my grandparents about 13 or 14 years ago as an anniversary gift. My grandmother was speechless. (She was always after me to be more 'crafty'. She's the one who taught me how to crochet when I was a 'wee small thing'. She also taught me how to knit. I did both for a small while but never picked it back up until this time around. I think of her all the time when I crochet!) 'You made this?!?'
I was very proud when she displayed it in a very prominent place in their home, right where there original wedding picture had hung for .......well, forever!
When my grandmother was near death with lung cancer she made sure to tell everyone 'make sure that picture goes back to Lisa'. Now I have it in my home and it is something I will always treasure. Not because it was something I made but because I know how much it meant to her.
