American Idol....How can so many people be obsessed about picking the next 'big thing'? How can so many millions of people, of all ages, sit for 2 and 3 nights a week and devote at least an hour a night to this show? Judging people. "I don't like him." "He's cute, that's why he should win." "She's fantastic, I'm voting for her." Well, I'm just as guilty as the other millions of people, I guess. It started off as something I watched with my kids, well, my 15 year old daughter, and has turned in to a kind of obsession for myself too. I just love it. I guess it gives us all a hope that someday we can fulfill the dreams we have dreamed for ourselves and our children.
The Olympics..... I LOVE watching the Olympics. The figure skaters twirling, the speed skaters falling (oops, I meant skating real fast!), the bobsled/skeleton/luge go around an icy Nascar track...it's great. Hockey is one of my favorite things to watch and this year, Canada won the womens gold medal...yay. The men's hockey team for Canada and US did not do so well though, not even close, that's a disappointment. The funny thing is, I have to fight with my hubby about watching them because he doesn't like it....go figure.
What I really like? Watching these guys with their big mouths, spout off about how good they are and how no one is going to 'catch' them on the podium and then what do they do? FLOP! Bodie Miller.......shoulda kept yo' mouth shut!!
