DH's Comforghan

I would like to thank everyone who has already sent some blue squares for my DH's comfortghan and to those who are still in the process.
He found out (after seeing a stash of blue 12" squares) about it and is very touched.
For those of you who don't know, he very recently lost the man who raised him from the time he was a yound teen, and, in his opinion, made him a much better person. It has been hard on him but knowing he has support from others is really helping him.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me/is helping me with this. It means more than you will ever know.
p.s. I will post pics when I get a chance. Check back soon.

Just occured to me....

As odd as it sounds, I just realized I don't have any real pics of my kids on here. Yes, I'm ashamed.......
So here are 2 of my 'little ones'. Austin and Samantha were outside the other day 'mom take our picture' so I did and of course, Austin has to be a little ham and always put on a pose. You gotta love him.....He just turned 7.
Then there is my 'princess', Samantha. She'll be turning sweet 16 this summer and trust me, not a day goes by that she lets me forget it! In the pics with Austin she's just 'bummin' around the house and the other one is of her when we were playing with some shots the other night. (Did I mention I'm a photo junkie??) The pictures turned out gorgeous....just as gorgeous as she truly is.
I have another son who turns 15 in June but he didn't want me to take his picture because he didn't have his hair cut yet. He has since then so I'll have to corner him this weekend and update this post with his pic.
They are truly great kids. I love them to pieces!!

Samantha................Matthew
Austin & Matt...............Samantha & Austin
Austin

Edited: I switched some pics around. Now you can see a 'solo shot' of each one of my handsome boys as well as a better one of Austin with Sammy. If you notice, Austin is every where. It's hard to keep him away from the camera....funny little fella!!

Calming Seas / C is for Crochet

I have been asked by Viqui (who took this over when Karen Perkins when she died) to help her revamp this wonderful and resourceful website. It will be a 'work in progress' for quite a while as we have to go through sooo many links that have turned up 'invalid' over the years.
Please come and visit C is for Crochet periodically to take a look at the progress we've made. If you are looking for something and find some dead links we would love your helpin reporting these. We've started a forum in the 'myfastforum' for people to report those links that don't work, etc. If there is anything you'd like to see there just let us know as we're getting it all going.

Thank you to Viqui for asking me to help her with this. I'm thrilled to go into this adventure with her!

My Grandparents wedding photo in cross stitch

(clickable)

Ok, I know it's not crochet but I wanted to post this here anyway. I made this for my grandparents about 13 or 14 years ago as an anniversary gift. My grandmother was speechless. (She was always after me to be more 'crafty'. She's the one who taught me how to crochet when I was a 'wee small thing'. She also taught me how to knit. I did both for a small while but never picked it back up until this time around. I think of her all the time when I crochet!) 'You made this?!?'

I was very proud when she displayed it in a very prominent place in their home, right where there original wedding picture had hung for .......well, forever!

When my grandmother was near death with lung cancer she made sure to tell everyone 'make sure that picture goes back to Lisa'. Now I have it in my home and it is something I will always treasure. Not because it was something I made but because I know how much it meant to her.
